  • Question
Is this a hard picture to draw?
    Community Answer
It might be if you wonder about it instead of trying. Drawing always seems hard at first and it is until you have practiced it sufficiently. Give it a go, don't worry about the first many attempts not working, as the process of trying is what matters and creates your drawing skills. If you give up before you even start, you'll never learn.

    Community Answer
To draw the dragon, make sure to make the jaw more rocky and chunky, and use shades of greens and browns, and maybe some blues. As for what the earth dragon's breath weapon is, I believe the dragon doesn't have one, as not all dragons have breath weapons.
  • Question

You may be able to do ovals instead of perspective cubes, and try drawing a little more guidelines. This should really help. If this doesn't work, you could try looking up how to draw a Chinese dragon, because that is what dragon three is.

How do I draw breath that turns to ice?
    Community Answer
Draw some curved breath lines along with icicles around the dragon's mouth. (I would color them blue with white highlights to represent the ice.) You could even put a brick wall that is covered with a thick layer of ice in front of the dragon. Make the dragon darker than the background so you can see the difference between the dragon and the snowy, icy background.
  • Question
Should I use a mechanical pencil for the ovals and circles?
    Community Answer
Mechanical pencil markings are very difficult to erase, so it's harder if you make a mistake. I would recommend using a regular pencil until you feel more confident in your drawing skills.
  • Question
If I want to make scales all over the body, does it matter what shape they are in? If so, what kinds of shapes are used? How are they placed?
    Community Answer
If you are going for a fire type dragon, you may want to use sharply pointed scales all over the body. For water dragons, you may want soft patches of half-ovoid scales. Earth dragons usually have rough rocky scales on their head and back. If you're going for a Chinese dragon look or any other serpent-shaped dragon, tall oval scales overlapping each other all over the body will give it the slender appearance. However, try to experiment with different shapes and sizes on some dragon sketches you make!
  • Question
Why has the last dragon only got one eye?
    Community Answer
It shows it has two sides of a face to it. Like when you look at a dragon or another long snout-shaped animal sideways, you can see it has one eye facing you. Also, the cartoon dragon has one eye by the drawer's design. You can make a dragon with two eyes facing forward, or a dragon with an eye on either side of its face, or whatever you like.
  • Question
How do I draw Wings of Fire HiveWings?
    Carmen
    Community Answer
HiveWings are more complex dragons, but you can use dragon #2 as a base. Draw four wings instead of two, and make them longer and thinner. Look at photos of dragonflies for a reference. Make the horns longer and wider, and add stripes to the body. Color it the basic colors of a HiveWing (black, red, yellow, and/or orange). You may also want to look at illustrations of HiveWings, as they will give you a better reference of the proportions and details.
