Even if you don't have experience in a role, you may have skills or qualities that relate to the type of experience you need. For example, having a good sense of humor is a strength, while delivering a stand-up comedy set is a skill. You may not have the skill, but you can point to the strength to demonstrate you're capable. No matter what your experiences are, you can always use your strengths as a bridge to get past your lack of experience.

Think of LinkedIn as the social networking tool for professionals. Adding people to your network creates connections that can assist you in securing jobs or information that can further your career. There are also job postings that you can easily apply to if your resume is included in your profile. Writing articles of relevance to your field is another great way to catch the attention of employers.

Think about what you are good at, and then consider what careers are of interest to you. Try to combine the two to determine the best career path. Seek the help of friends for insight as you consider possible careers. You can also do some volunteer work to get experience in a field of interest and decide if it suits you.

Why are some companies concerned with the age of the employee?
    Community Answer
With age, there come problems with minimum wage, child labor laws, and taxes. If the employee is under age, the company may not want to risk running into a lawsuit. If the employee is older and more experienced, the company might be reluctant to give them a higher salary based on their experience.
  • Question
I want to be a YouTuber, but since I'm shy, I don't know if it's the right job for me. How do I know if it's the right job for me?

    Top Answerer
It isn't. YouTube is an oversaturated field, and only a select few have actually made it their own full-time business. Sure, making videos sounds easy, but being a YouTuber is far more than just posting videos. It requires charisma, some acting, very expensive equipment, and interesting, unique content that people want to watch.
  • Question
I'm 13 and looking for a part-time job in Australia. Are there any companies you know that hire that young?
    Mzm555
    Top Answerer
It depends on the state. Australia-wide, it is generally legal to work from the age of 13 (dependent on the job); however, most companies won't want to hire until at least 14 years of age. You may have more luck being employed somewhere via word-of-mouth, e.g. a friend or family member.
  • Question
What are some jobs that can help animals?

Animal shelter work usually encompasses manual labor such as cleaning up cages, feeding, watering and sometimes playing with animals. There are more but these are the basics.

For any of your desired occupations, you need a college education. Remember that most students take their first 1 to 2 years deciding on what they want to do, while taking core credits that will count toward any degree (example: College English / Writing 101). You might want to focus on writing, since that applies to at least 2 of your desires. You can always minor in artistic, creative subjects, such as art and drawing.
