QuestionI'm in this situation, but if I do any of this they will end the friendship and I will be lonely. I don't have any other good friends. What do I do?Community AnswerTell your friend that you feel unimportant, and like you're not a priority to them. If they respond positively and in a constructive manner, you should keep them around. If they snap at you, become super defensive, or act flat out rude, then just ditch them. You can always go out and meet new people, or meet friends online, or through family members. This is not your only shot at friendship. There are plenty of great people out there.

QuestionSome of my friends sometimes give unreliable advice. Does this mean I cant be close to my friends?Community AnswerKeep in mind that advice is limited to the perspective of the person you're asking; everybody is capable of delivering good or bad advice, depending on the subject. While it's good to get multiple sources of input for resolving a problem, your own critical thinking will best determine your course of action. Keep in mind that just because you've asked for advice doesn't mean you're required to follow any that doesn't feel right to you.

QuestionI get on really well with my sister but she organises days out then cancels at the last minute. If I make other plans, she calls several times, saying something has happened to her and needs me.Community AnswerAsk her why she is doing this and ask her to stop. She appears to be manipulative and really inconsiderate of your own needs. Inform her that the next time she organises a day out and then cancels on you, that you'll treat this as her final word on how little respect she holds for your time and you won't be making plans with her again for a very long time. That way, she can make a choice about doing the right thing or forfeit the ability to spend time with you until you're ready to again.
