  • Question
How do I stop my stomach from growling in the middle of class?
    Community Answer
Try breathing deeply and regularly or shifting your posture. Also, make sure to eat a nutritious breakfast before school. You can also bring a snack, such as a granola bar, to eat between classes.
  • Question
    Is popcorn okay to eat?
    Community Answer
Yeah, I would stay away from buttery types, but if it's just normal plain popcorn, you should be good. Buttered popcorn might upset your stomach. Be sure to drink some water after eating the popcorn.
  • Question
How do I stop sudden growling in the examination hall?
    Community Answer
Try to eat something beforehand. Our stomach and bowels make noise all the time, but if you haven't eaten in a while the sound can get louder. Also, remember everybody makes that noise sometimes, so you shouldn't worry too much about it.
  • Question
I squeeze and punch my stomach when I either hear it or feel a growl. Is that safe?
    Tom De Backer
    Top Answerer
No. You can do some serious harm to yourself if you punch yourself hard enough. If you squeeze, you might cut of some blood vessels near your skin, or even some that lie deeper down, you might rupture them, causing internal bleeding. Same for punching. Granted, you'd have to squeeze and punch really hard to do any real damage, but it also doesn't work, it doesn't do you any good whatsoever, and it doesn't stop the growling. Eat a snack, drink some water, treat your body like a work of art.
  • Question
If I am hungry and never want to eat, how can I stop my stomach from making noise without food?
    Community Answer
You really can't. The best thing to do would be to eat a little. You can eat a piece of bread, or some ice cream. But if you never want to eat, you might want to go see a doctor and find out why. Loss of appetite could be a sign of a medical condition, and not eating is very bad for your health.
  • Question
Is there something I can cover my stomach with to help lessen or diminish the growling or gurgling sounds?
    Community Answer
No. Covering it won't help. Also, don't wear a tight belt or force your hands onto your stomach. This will only squeeze it and worsen the gurgling.
  • Question
Can I make some kind of weird noise so that no one can hear the growl and not alert the teacher?
    Community Answer
No. You should just let your stomach growl. It will not help if you make strange noises, and people will probably think you are special if you do. People will probably just chuckle a little if you let your stomach growl, however.
  • Question
Is there not some sort of natural remedy?
    Isolde
    Top Answerer
If the noise is caused by hunger, then it usually involves eating a small portion of food before you leave the house in the morning or before hunger sets in during the day. If the noise is caused by feeling unwell, ginger or mint teas can sometimes help.
  • Question
I need to eat less because of a diet, and even though I am not hungry my stomach keeps gurgling. What do I do?
    Community Answer
That may be due to the change, it will most likely go away with time. However, if it worsens or has been going on for a long amount of time, consult a doctor.
  • Question
I am really skinny but my belly is always rumbling and I am always embarrassed because my mum is around. So is it okay if I poke my belly button?
    maya leah
    Community Answer
Poking your belly button will not make it stop rumbling. Some people's stomachs growl when they're hungry, so to avoid it rumbling, make sure that you are eating enough food; at least three meals a day, and lots of liquids.
