Put some of the petroleum jelly onto the end of a cotton ball, then put the cotton ball in your outer ear to cover your ear canal. Don't push the cotton ball into your ear, just let it stick on the surface to prevent water from dripping into it. After your shower, take off the cotton ball and wipe away the petroleum jelly.
