  • Question
After the water boils, can I pour it in the pot, or should I wait until it cools off?
    Community Answer
No. You shouldn't pour it into the pot, especially if it is a mud or plastic pot.
  • Question
If I want to use eucalyptus bark for crafts, do I need to use something to preserve it?
    Community Answer
Not necessarily, though the bark will be more brittle if you do not preserve it.
  • Question
Can I preserve a long strand of eucalyptus garland in a garbage bag in a refrigerator for a month if I mist it?
    Community Answer
Possibly, though you could preserve it for much longer if you use a water and glycerin solution.
  • Question
Are you putting branches into boiling hot water or allowing the water to cool? Also, can you preserve branches with pods, and do the pods preserve well?
    Community Answer
The water you use in the solution doesn't need to be boiling, though it could be. You can allow the solution to cool before placing the branches in it, or you could place them in it while it is still hot. Pods are generally not preserved along with eucalyptus branches, but you could give it a shot -- perhaps your particular species of eucalyptus will preserve well.
  • Question
Can I dry eucalyptus without glycerin? I am allergic to glycerin.
    Community Answer
Yes, you can, but it will be brittle. I have several pieces of dried eucalyptus, and the leaves crunch easily.
