  • Question
Do I read manga on the internet from right to left?
    Community Answer
You read it right to left, or else you'll miss some important scenes in the conversation and then get really confused.
  • Question
Is there any way I can get it the American way on paper?
    Community Answer
Yes, but not for all manga. Some are flipped to fit the "American way," but most times, the backgrounds are flipped and it doesn't look right.
  • Question
Do I read it right to left on an iPad/iPhone on the manga app?
    Community Answer
Yes. Manga apps I've seen are often scanlations of Japanese manga and translated.
  • Question
What page should I start reading on?
    Community Answer
The page right after the cover page, which is, for regular comic books (American ones), the last page.
  • Question
Do I read two rows of manga as one row?
    Community Answer
It's all part of one story/plot, so it doesn't matter, as long as you read the panels in order.
  • Question
What if the character is blushing a lot?
    Community Answer
There are many reasons why this could be the case, but they may be in love with one of the other characters or they may be embarrassed.
  • Question
    Are all manga in Japanese?
    DAIZHA PHILLIPS
    Community Answer
No. There are many manga in English, and I'm sure there are translations in other languages. You just have to look in the right place!
  • Question
How do I read the name?
    Community Answer
The name is on the spine of the book or on the cover. Read the title normally on the cover.
  • Question
Where can I find English manga?
    Community Answer
It depends what you mean by “English manga.” If you mean manga in English, most manga have English translations, and you can find them online or within the same book as the Japanese manga. If you mean reading left to right, some manga are flipped this way for the Western market, but often the backgrounds are flipped and it looks wrong. And if you mean manga originally written in English, by English people, I’m not sure that really qualifies as manga.
  • Question
I'm confused, as I'm reading a manga comic for the first time. Will I have time to read "Naruto" the same way?
    Community Answer
If you attempt to read the manga the "American" way, you may get a warning in the book, saying it is the last page. If the warning is not there, read it normally. If there is a warning, you would read it how this wiki instructs.
  • Question
Some mangas I've read have been split up vertically, but then switched horizontally on the other side of the same page. How do I read that?
    Community Answer
Read the vertical page first and then move on to the horizontal page.
  • Question
Are there any Manga that can be read left to right?
    Community Answer
Most traditional ones are read from right to left.
  • Question
How do I tell who is talking when reading manga?
    Community Answer
Look at the scene and try to guess who is talking. If it's just the background with no characters, look at who spoke last and see if the words in the bubble fit what the character would say.
  • Question
How do I get free manga in America?
    Community Answer
Try borrowing one from a friend, or a library. You might find one cheap at a yard or garage sale, but finding anything for free isn't easy. People don't really just give stuff away unless they don't want it, and even then it usually cost at least a bit of money.
  • Question

    Community Answer
Viz, Shonen Jump, and Crunchy Roll. For online, Shonen Jump, Crunchy Roll, and Kiss Manga.
