If these steps work for you, then go right ahead. If something works for you and you are comfortable with it, do it! Articles written for women or men on wikiHow are sort of like pink screwdrivers or "man sized" Kleenex - they work for everyone, it's just some people feel more comfortable with the stereotypical option!

Every time I shave it becomes red and super irritating against my clothing. How can I prevent this?
    Curtis Fairgrieve
    Community Answer
Wear loose-fitting clothing, like boxer shorts and a lightweight tracksuit. Try to avoid shaving your body hair if you have to be somewhere else in a hurry. Always moisturise after you shave your body and if you aren't going anywhere, wear a cotton bathrobe.
  • Question
What way or direction should I shave in. I did it opposite of my hairs direction. Now it hurts. Is what I'm doing wrong?
    Curtis Fairgrieve
    Community Answer
If this is happening, then you are shaving against the grain. To reduce likelihood of irritation, shave with the grain, that is, in the direction the hair grows. For optimal results, make a pass with the grain, then lather up again and make another pass against the grain - the direction you feel resistance.
