It depends who you ask. While it isn't really a "classic" curse, many people think it's offensive so be careful who you use it around.

    Community Answer
From the moment a child is able to say any words. It all depends on what the child hears around it, the words that it is immersed in are the words it will learn and repeat back. If a two year old is cursing, it means the household is displaying the example for the child to follow.
  • Question
Which is better to start off: saying badwords that the people around you say, or light bad words?
    Community Answer
    Light words.
  • Question
Why would anyone want to start swearing?
    Community Answer
People swear usually to seem cool, let off steam, or signify extreme emotion. Actually, swearing is more complicated than overly moralistic people seem to think. Some studies have shown that swearing is a sign of verbal intelligence (see further Language Sciences journal 2015) and that those who swear often do well across a range of subjects. It was actually shown that such persons had a broader range of vocab, not less, contrary to the oft repeated but tiresome comment that you ought to replace that swearword with a word that's more apt. Possibly it's a sign that those who swear aren't uptight, have nuanced understandings and don't mind staying open-minded about the world.
  • Question
What if you're talking about the actual Hell? Does it still count as swearing?

  • Question
I want to ask my parents if I can say "damn" and "hell", but I don't know how to approach them. Can you please give me some suggestions?
    Community Answer
Do your parents curse? If so, directly after they do, laugh, then say "Wow, am I even allowed to say that?" or something along those lines. If they don't, bring up one of your friends who curses, "Jared dropped the f-bomb today" and then make a smooth connection from that to "So what curse words am I allowed to say?"
  • Question
What if I want to curse with my friends but my parents don't allow me to?
    Community Answer
Your parents are right. People think that cursing makes you cool, but it doesn't. In the end, do you really think that calling people bad things and being a bit of a bully is a good choice? No. And as soon as you start it might be hard to stop. So listen to your parents, they know what is best for you.
  • Question
What curse words are kids allowed to say?

  • Question
My friend hates it when I say anything that is even close to swearing (damn, hell, flip, etc.). What should I do?
    NY Blossom

Avoid swearing around that person. People who swear in daily life don't curse all the time. For example, you might curse when you're just chilling, but this is a no-no at school or work.
  • Question
If someone tells ms that "I want to curse you forever", what are the trying to say?
    Community Answer
They are very angry with you and want bad things to befall you. This is a different meaning of curse, it is the idea of placing a "bad spell" on you, so that bad things keep happening to you. It is truly not a nice thing to say but it is not a prophecy, so realize that the person is letting off steam and is being unkind, irrational and very angry. Let them calm down and talk about the problem later, when both of you are ready to do so.

  • Question
Is it okay for a 12 year old to swear when he's with close friends and no adults?
    Tom De Backer
    Top Answerer
It has been shown that saying curse words helps reduce stress, and even allows you to endure more pain compared to normal words. So curse words certainly have an effect. It is also true that adults and children swear about as much, except when anyone from the other group is around, so it is assumed that swearing is a normal behavior. However, try to express yourself politely and clearly, avoiding curse words whenever you can.

  • Question
Should my parents saying words like freak and wench?
    Tom De Backer
    Top Answerer
If I say "you're a telephone", and I meant it as an insult, then it was an insult. What I meant exactly is not important. Even if I meant "you're thin" but you understood it as an insult, it was an insult and I should apologize, and be clearer in the future. 'Freak' and 'wench' my be insults of a lesser order, but it doesn't matter. If you take it as an insult, then that is a legitimate feeling and you have every right to talk to your parents about how you feel.
  • Question
What is better, punching a stuffed animal or swearing? I have never sworn before, will I get laughed at for swearing? I'm 12, and my friends all swear freely.
    Community Answer
Punching a stuffed animal is better. You shouldn't start swearing at your age, especially if you're only doing it to fit in with your friends. Swearing is a bad habit, and it's tough to break once you get started. Don't do it!
  • Question
My friends told me to swear at people, how can I use fake curse words to avoid getting in trouble?
    Community Answer
Don't. Just tell your friend that cursing is wrong and you're not going to do it. You don't have to do something just because your friend tells you to. Stand up for yourself.
