    Try to attend every class, and stay up-to-date with assignments given during the semester. Also, try to review your notes right after class, so the information stays fresh in your mind. Unfortunately, the memory degrades after a relatively short time.

    Every day, look at the notes, then turn them over and try to write them out from memory. The repetition will help them stick. You could also try hanging them up in a prominent place (e.g., by your bed) so you'll see them very often.

    Start reading right away, even if you can't cover everything; some studying is better than none at all. Focus on the most important topics to make the most of your time. You should have an idea of what these are from your teacher mentioning them regularly in class. Look for questions on these from your textbook, marked homework etc. and learn how to answer them in a way that will get you as many points as possible.
