Baked Pork Neckbones Recipe
Ingredients:
* 2-3 lbs. pork neck bones
* Salt and pepper
* 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
* 1 onion, chopped
* 2 garlic cloves, minced
* 1/4 cup tomato paste
* 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
* 2 tbsp. brown sugar
* 1 tsp. smoked paprika
* 1/2 tsp. cumin
* 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
* 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
* 1 cup water or chicken broth
* Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Season the pork neck bones generously with salt and pepper.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large Dutch oven or oven-safe pot over medium-high heat.
Add the pork neck bones to the pot and sear on all sides until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot and sauté for 2-3 minutes, until softened.
In a small bowl, whisk together the tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, cumin, cinnamon, red wine vinegar, and water or chicken broth.
Pour the tomato paste mixture over the pork neck bones and stir to combine.
Cover the pot with a lid and transfer to the preheated oven.
Bake the pork neck bones for 2-3 hours, or until the meat is tender and falling off the bones.
Remove the pot from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
Serve the baked pork neck bones hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
