Eat Dark Leafy Greens
Dark leafy greens include kale, romaine lettuce, arugula, mustard greens, collard greens, cabbage and broccoli.
Eat Lean Protein
Examples of lean protein include skinless chicken or turkey, nonfat Greek yogurt, beans, lentils and tofu.
Eat Healthy Fats
Healthy fats include chia seeds, flaxseeds, avocados, salmon, olive oil, and egg yolks.
Lower Sodium Intake
Stick to a diet that is low in salt and refined sugars, by avoiding foods like deli meats, canned soups and vegetables, frozen meals, spaghetti sauce, bread and tortillas.
Drink Plenty of Water
Drink at least 64 ounces of water per day to prevent water retention.
Avoid Alcohol
Alcohol causes dehydration which leads to water retention and facial puffiness. It’s best to avoid it altogether, but if you do choose to imbibe, limit your intake to 1 drink per day.
