Saying “I love you” for the first time over text is not recommended, but feel free to express your love via text after you’ve told him in person.
Random messages
Send him a random text saying you’re thinking about him.
Examples:
“I’m excited to see you tomorrow night. I love spending time with you. Oh, and I love you too 😘”
“I can’t stop thinking about you. I love you, babe.”
Pair it with a question and praise
Ask for his advice or pay him a compliment, then slip it in at the end.
Examples:
“How much is reasonable to pay for an oil change? I figured you’d know because you know all things that go vroom-vroom (including my heart when you’re around). I love you.”
“What’s the secret ingredient in that spicy curry you made last week? I feel so lucky to be in love with a master chef!”
Cheer him up
If you know he’s having hard day, cheer him up by telling him why you love him.
Examples:
“I’m sorry to hear you’re flooded at work. They must know how brilliant and passionate you are, and those are just two reasons why I love you!”
“I hope your day gets better. Sending you happy vibes—I love you!”
Before bed or waking up
Send him a sweet goodnight text. You can also send good morning texts if you know when he wakes up.
Examples:
“I’m heading to bed and hope to dream of you. I love you!”
“Good morning, cowboy. I hope you have a great day, I love you!”
Mention his quirks
This is a playful way to say you love him and all of his little eccentricities.
Example:
“I love how obsessed you are with the nerdiest of nerdville action figures. Just one of the many reasons I love you!”
“I’m in love with a man who bites his lip (adorably) when he solves puzzles!”
