Wander around in the Chocobo footprints until a random encounter with a Chocobo is in it. The music will be different, so you will know when it comes.

Take the Chocobo across the Great Marsh without encountering the Basilisk. It will kill you.

Go through the cave. Treasure can be found in the cave, along with a Materia and enemy skill.
