When should you decorate your home for fall?
The end of August is a great time to start decorating for fall, but you should decorate whenever it feels right to you.
Need Help Maximizing Space in a Small Apartment
If furniture is too large, it instantly makes the space feel smaller. Even in a small apartment, you want to leave a little bit of room — maybe five inches — between the furniture and the walls. In a living room, a great setup is a sofa with two chairs facing it. It’s better than one giant piece of furniture because it creates dimension and adds more seating. Even in small spaces, it's important not to leave too much empty space — well-placed furniture makes the area look and feel bigger .

In a bedroom, using small wardrobes is a great idea. IKEA, for example, has excellent options. A lot of smaller apartments don't have big closets, so you need to create your own storage space. Wardrobes come in all shapes and sizes and can fit in a bedroom or even a living room — they double as furniture and add visual interest too .

A lot of people are hesitant to decorate small spaces because they worry about making mistakes or wasting money. The first thing I'd recommend: hang curtains . Curtains instantly bring a room together. Also, use a larger rug than you might think — big enough so that the couch and chairs sit on the rug, not just in front of it. Finally, go for big, bold wall art. Don't scatter little pictures here and there. A large framed print makes a space feel bigger and more cohesive.
