Morelull is a Grass and Fairy-Type Pokémon, [1] first introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon. At level 24, it evolves into the also Grass and Fairy-Type Pokémon, Shiinotic. [2] Catching Morelull can be a bit difficult, since there aren’t very many locations where it can be found. If you’re having trouble finding and catching Morelull in Pokémon Sun and Moon, then this wikiHow will provide you with some advice.

Steps

  1. Morelull has a relatively high catch rate, [3] so great Pokéballs should work well (make sure, however, that you bring multiple Pokéballs with you in case your first attempt at catching Morelull is unsuccessful).
    • You can also bring a few Quick Balls with you if you’d like to attempt to catch Morelull immediately when the encounter begins.
  2. Because Morelull is a Grass and Fairy-Type Pokémon, it is weak to those types of moves (with it being especially weak to Poison-Type moves). [4]
    • Unless it is holding a Ring Target, Morelull is immune to Dragon-Type moves, so be sure to keep this in mind (if it is holding a Ring Target, then Dragon-Type moves will have a normal level of effectiveness). [5]

  3. In Pokémon Sun and Moon, there are 3 locations where you can find Morelull, and they include Route 11, Brooklet Hill and the Lush Jungle at night. You can head to either one of these locations. [6]
    • In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, Morelull cannot be found on Route 11, and thus can only be found in Lush Jungle and Brooklet Hill. [7]
    • If you’re going to look for Morelull in Lush Jungle or on Brooklet Hill, be sure to complete the trials there first, since you won’t be able to catch Pokémon in those locations otherwise.
  4. Although Morelull has a higher encounter rate in the Lush Jungle, it has a relatively lower encounter rate in Brooklet Hill and on Route 11. [8] Wherever you’ve chosen, eventually, you should encounter a Morelull.
  5. This will help to make catching it easier. Once its health is low enough, throw a Pokéball. Eventually, you should successfully catch it.
    • Be careful if you decide to use Poison or Fire-Type moves, since these can poison or burn a Pokémon, thus causing them to lose health. If they lose all of their health, they’ll faint and you won’t be able to catch them.
    • Moves like False Swipe are great to use, since these moves are guaranteed to leave the Pokémon the move is used on with at least 1 HP.

      Tips

      • If you want to evolve your Morelull but don’t want to use it in battle, you don’t have to. If you have the Exp. Share (obtained early on at the Trainer’s School), make sure it's turned on, and have Morelull in your party. This way, it will still earn Exp. even though it isn’t battling.
      • From time to time, if its health gets low enough, Morelull may call another Pokémon for help. If this happens, and Morelull is successful, then you’ll have to defeat the Pokémon that appears before you’ll be allowed to catch Morelull.
