Make sure you have enough Pokéballs. Morelull has a relatively high catch rate, ^{[3]

- You can also bring a few Quick Balls with you if you’d like to attempt to catch Morelull immediately when the encounter begins.

Have some Flying, Steel, Fire, Ice and/or Poison-Type Pokémon on your team. Because Morelull is a Grass and Fairy-Type Pokémon, it is weak to those types of moves (with it being especially weak to Poison-Type moves). ^{[4]

Lower Morelull's health to about half or less. This will help to make catching it easier. Once its health is low enough, throw a Pokéball. Eventually, you should successfully catch it.
- Be careful if you decide to use Poison or Fire-Type moves, since these can poison or burn a Pokémon, thus causing them to lose health. If they lose all of their health, they’ll faint and you won’t be able to catch them.
- Moves like False Swipe are great to use, since these moves are guaranteed to leave the Pokémon the move is used on with at least 1 HP.

Tips

If you want to evolve your Morelull but don’t want to use it in battle, you don’t have to. If you have the Exp. Share (obtained early on at the Trainer’s School), make sure it's turned on, and have Morelull in your party. This way, it will still earn Exp. even though it isn’t battling.

From time to time, if its health gets low enough, Morelull may call another Pokémon for help. If this happens, and Morelull is successful, then you’ll have to defeat the Pokémon that appears before you’ll be allowed to catch Morelull.
