Zorua is a Dark-Type Pokémon, first introduced in Pokémon Black and White. At level 30, it evolves into the also Dark-Type Pokémon, Zoroark. [1] Zorua could not be caught in Pokémon Sun and Moon (you would’ve needed to trade it over from another game), it can be caught in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Zorua and Zoroark can be valuable assets to your team. This wikiHow will show you how to catch Zorua in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.

Steps

  1. Zorua's catch rate is slightly lower than average, [2] so try bringing Great Pokéballs with you (make sure, however, that you bring multiple, in case your first attempt at catching Zorua is unsuccessful).
    • You can also bring Quick Balls with you if you'd like to attempt to catch Zorua immediately when the encounter begins.
    • Since Zorua will most likely be at a lower level, you can also bring Nest Balls with you, since these are good for catching Pokémon at lower levels.
  2. Since Zorua is a Dark-Type Pokémon, it is weak to those types of moves.
    • Unless the move Miracle Eye is used, or your opponent is carrying a Ring Target, Zorua is immune to Psychic-Type moves (these moves have a normal level of effectiveness if either one of the above conditions occur), so be sure to keep this in mind. [3]

  3. In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, there's only one place where you can find Zorua, and that's in a large patch of grass outside and to the far left of the Trainer's School, behind a gate.
    • The Trainer’s School is found very early on in the game, it is one of the first locations you visit after obtaining a Rotom Dex. [4]
    • One of the trainers you need to battle for the Trainer's School, Youngster Joey, can be found at the end of the large patch of grass.
    • Zorua's encounter rate is relatively average, so it shouldn't take you too long to find one.
    • Head to the left of the school entrance and follow the asphalt path until you reach a red gate.
  4. This should make catching it a little bit easier. Once its health is at about half or less, throw a Pokéball. Eventually (though it may take a little bit), you should have successfully caught Zorua.

      Tips

      • Zorua is known for its Illusion ability. This ability allows it to take on the form of the most recent Pokémon in your party that isn’t fainted. [5]
      • Occasionally, if its health gets too low, Zorua may call for help. If this happens, you’ll have to defeat the Pokémon that appears before you can catch Zorua.
