If you want to clear the "Furthest Page Read" progress on a particular book you're reading on your Kindle account, Amazon offers an easy method. You'll need your computer to reset the reading progress percentage so you can then reset the "Furthest Read Page" from your Kindle or app, as desired.
Steps
-
1Open up the book on your Kindle device or app, if you don't know the exact title.
- Ensure that your device or smartphone is connected to the Internet. Depending on your device, this might be through LTE or Wi-Fi connection.
- If a dialogue box asks you whether you want to synchronize your reading progress with your other devices, say no.
- Locate the book title. On an iPhone or Android phone, open the book and single-tap the text. Then look below the line of menu buttons, just above where the text begins, and note the exact title.
- Exit out of the book. Tap the book's text, and then tap the downward pointing arrow in the top left corner of the screen.
-
2Visit the Amazon "Manage Your Content and Devices" page on your computer. Sign in with the Amazon credentials associated with your Kindle, if asked.Advertisement

3Search for the book you'd like to clear the progress of. If needed, type the title in the search field at the top right of the Content list, and click the Search button to begin your search for the book.
- As you type, the search box will display a list of possible books from your device. Click the book once you find it.
- If you can't find the book, you may need to research where you bought it, in case it was under a different account.
-
4Click ... in the second column from the left by the correct book title.
-
5Click the Clear furthest page read link.
-
6Double check the title in the prompt that display. Click Clear Furthest Page Read to confirm you want to reset the progress.
-
7Wait for the success message to confirm it worked.
-
8Open the book again on the Kindle or Kindle app you want to use to set the new "Furthest Page Read". Tap the book to open it.
- The page you open the book to there will become the new "Furthest Page Read". It will sync across all your Kindle devices/apps so they will display that page as your new reading progress.
- If you reset the progress page percentage when the book is 100% read and "Marked as Read," your Kindle will assume that you want to begin again from the start.
-
9Close the book, once you've re-calibrated the syncing position.
- Ensure the Kindle shows the percentage you've finished accurately on that device and any others you use. If it doesn't, you may need to repeat the process.
