Request a proclamation. You can request a proclamation here . A proclamation is an official document issued by the governor that dedicates a certain day for the purpose of raising awareness about an issue, or for celebrating a large event. For example, a proclamation can recognize a certain day as red tide awareness day, or to commemorate the acceptance of Florida as a state, or something similar. - The request must be to raise awareness about an issue affecting a large number of Florida residents, and it must be specific to Florida.
- Requests for commemorative milestones must be about milestones that are significant to Florida's history.
- Requests are not for individuals (unless they have made a significant contribution to the State of Florida or the United States), grand openings, or to act as endorsements for private citizens or organizations.

Request a letter of recognition . A letter of recognition is a letter from the governor that can be used to commemorate events, such as an anniversary or birthday for individuals that do not meet the requirements for a proclamation. A letter of recognition can be requested here .
