How to Control How Twitter Uses Your Data

X, formerly known as Twitter, collects your data to personalize your X experience and improve their services. It also helps them to display interest-based ads. X shares your non-public information with its business partners. This wikiHow will help you to control how X uses your data.

On the X/Twitter Website

    Log in to X . Open  www.twitter.com in your preferred browser and log in with your username and password.

    Open the Settings page. To do that, click on your profile picture at the top-right side of the page and select Settings and privacy from the drop-down menu.

    Navigate to Privacy and safety settings. You will see the option on the left side of the page.

    Scroll down to the Personalization and Data option. Click on the Edit link, right after the  Personalization and Data option.

    Click on the Disable all button. When you hit the button, a confirmation pop-up will appear there. You can also opt in or out of each setting manually.

    Click on Yes, I'm sure from the pop-up window. Also, hit the Save changes button to confirm your action. These changes may take some time to effect. Done!

On the X/Twitter App for Android

    Launch the X platform app on your phone.  Log in with your username/email and password, if you haven't already done so.

    Navigate to the main menu. Just tap your profile icon on the top-left side of the app. Doing so, a side menu panel will appear there.

    Tap on Settings and privacy . It's located at the bottom of the menu.

    Select Privacy and safety option. You will see it, under the Account settings.

    Scroll down to the bottom and tap on Personalisation and data option. This will open the Personalisation and data settings.
  6. 6
    Turn off the Personalisation and data feature.  Toggle off the blue switch, right across the  Personalisation and data  title. You can also opt in or out of each setting manually.
  7. 7
    Confirm your changes. Tap on YES, I'M SURE from the pop-up screen to save your changes. These changes may take some time to effect. Finished!
