As a Lyft driver, you can create and give out a code to refer passengers to Lyft. If people use your code when they sign up to be a Lyft rider, they may get Lyft credit, and you may earn a financial reward, too.
Steps

1Open the Lyft website. The easiest way to make a code is on the website, not the Lyft nor Lyft Driver apps.

2Log in to the Lyft website.
- Click on the "Log in" button.
- Use your phone number associated to your login account to log into Lyft.
- Click the "Next" button to continue further.
- Watch for a text message on your phone. This text message will contain a one-time use code that you'll use as a secure password for this login.
- Enter it on the site.
- After submitting the six digit password/passcode successfully, it'll log you into the site. If it doesn't auto-submit, click the "Next" button to continue.

3Click on the Passenger Referrals link in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

4Enter your proposed custom code in the textbox underneath the "Create a Custom Referral Code" label.

5Click the "Create" button. If you see your code pop up in the customized codes list underneath this section, you've done it! Share the code with potential passengers.

6Look for a success message. Success messages are displayed as an all-caps "Code Created" button to the right of the "Create" button. If you get an all-caps "That code is taken already", realize that it's one of the codes you've created before and can't be recreated.
- Also, after successful creation, you'll get a list of successful codes you've created below this with links to the shareable code that can be used for your social media streams under the heading "Your Invite History".
