Google Chrome's sync feature helps you to save your bookmarks, history, passwords, and other settings to your Google account. When you enable this feature, you can view and update your synced info on all your devices that are connected to your Google account. If you aren't interested in this feature, you can disable it in a few simple steps.

On a Computer

Open the Google Chrome app on your computer. It's the icon with a red, yellow, green, and blue sphere. Make sure that your Google Chrome app is up to date.

Click on the three dots menu ( ⋮ ), at the top right corner of the browser. A drop-down menu will appear.Advertisement

Select Settings from the menu. You can also open the Settings page by entering chrome://settings/ in your address bar.

Navigate to the “People” header and click on the Turn off button. A confirmation box will pop up.

Click on the Turn off button in the dialog box to confirm your action. This will also sign you out of your Google accounts. That's it!
- If you want to sync your info again, click on the Sign in button and log in with your Google account.

On Android

Launch the Google Chrome app. It's the icon with a red, yellow, green, and blue sphere that can usually be found in the app drawer.
- If you don’t have the latest version of Google Chrome app, update it from the Google Play Store.

Tap on Settings from the menu panel. It will be the second to last option.

Tap on your profile picture. It's located at the top of the Settings panel. If you aren't signed in to Chrome, log in with your Google account.

Turn off the sync feature. Toggle off the blue switch right after the “Sync” text. The switch will turn grey. You're done!
