Google Chrome's sync feature helps you to save your bookmarks, history, passwords, and other settings to your Google account. When you enable this feature, you can view and update your synced info on all your devices that are connected to your Google account. If you aren't interested in this feature, you can disable it in a few simple steps.

Part 1 of 3:

On a Computer

  1.  It's the icon with a red, yellow, green, and blue sphere. Make sure that your Google Chrome app is up to date.
  2. A drop-down menu will appear.

  3. You can also open the Settings page by entering chrome://settings/ in your address bar.
  4. A confirmation box will pop up.
  5.  This will also sign you out of your Google accounts. That's it!
    • If you want to sync your info again, click on the Sign in button and log in with your Google account.

Part 2 of 3:

On Android

  1. It's the icon with a red, yellow, green, and blue sphere that can usually be found in the app drawer.
    • If you don’t have the latest version of Google Chrome app, update it from the Google Play Store.
  2. You can find it in the top-right corner of the app.
  3. It will be the second to last option.
  4. It's located at the top of the Settings panel. If you aren't signed in to Chrome, log in with your Google account.
  5. Chrome's sync settings will open.
  6.  Toggle off the blue switch right after the  “Sync”  text. The switch will turn grey. You're done!

On iPhone

  1. It's the icon with a red, yellow, green, and blue sphere.
    • If you don’t have the latest version of Google Chrome app, update it from the App Store.
  2. It's located at the top of the Settings panel. If you aren't signed in to Chrome, log in with your Google account.
  3. Chrome's sync settings will open.
  4.  Toggle off the blue switch right after the  “Sync”  text. The blue switch will turn white. That's it!
