If you've caught the grass-type Fomantis in Pokémon Sun and/or Moon, you may be thinking that you've caught a not so strong looking Pokémon. However, it evolves into the also grass-type Lurantis, which is definitely more powerful. If you'd like to know how you can evolve your Fomantis, then read this article.

Steps

  1. The Fomantis is relatively common, and can be found on Route Five and the Lush Jungle, which is the sight of Captain Mallow's trial. You shouldn't need to do more than weaken it slightly and throw a normal Pokéball at it.
    • If you have a Pokémon that knows false swipe, then simply use that to get the Fomantis to 1 hp, and catch it that way.
  2. This can either be done by battling, or eating rare candies, which level your Pokémon up by 1 each time they are eaten. You may have a long way to go, as your Fomantis will need to be level 34.

  4. It can be any location of your choosing, and the Pokémon that appears does not matter.
  5. If you've completed everything correctly in the article up to this point, then should get to watch your Fomantis evolve into the beautiful Lurantis.

      Tips

      • If you don't want to use your Fomantis in battle, turn on EXP share. That way, no matter what Pokémon battles, all the Pokémon on your team will gain EXP if you win the battle.
      • If you have the Charizard Poké ride, then use that to get to the location you want to get to. That'll be easier than trying to backtrack if you're already far ahead.
      • A good move that your Lurantis can learn is Solar Blade. This is a move that no other Pokémon has had, and is very powerful. If your Lurantis doesn't want to learn it right away, then keep battling with it or using a different method to level it up, and it should learn it eventually.
