Lack of motivation can be a few different things. Sometimes, lack of motivation can be depression in hiding. So first, we want to make sure you're mentally healthy, and a good therapist can help with this.

Other times, lack of motivation can be because we get intimidated by too big a goal. If that’s the case, I’d suggest replacing your goals with smaller ones. For example, if your goal was to lose 50 pounds, instead of saying you’ll work out daily for 2 hours and give up all sugar, start with just walking 20 minutes a few times a week. As you progress, you can add more things. This can feel more reasonable and less intimidating than doing everything at once.

There is no any thing like motivation. There is a inner strength inside every person. Find that driving force why you started that work? Why you want to continue it?
That's it.

I've been going through this issue for a long time now. My motivation has been poorer than me after buying too many things I don't need. It is a vicious cycle where we want to do something, but can't bring ourselves to do it, so we just lay down and feel horrible about it.

The issue has gotten a little bit better since I talked to a doctor and was prescribed some psych meds. Have you considered depression, ADHD, or other issues as a potential cause for it? It's easy to overlook these things when we're struggling a lot already. Of course, meds are not a cure-all, but it can definitely help improve things a little. Plus, I do know that certain physical ailments can also contribute to a lack of motivation as well, so it's even more important you get this taken care of.

You are not lazy. Not one bit. You want to do something, but it's like your brain won't allow you to. Don't beat yourself over this!!! I wish you luck.
