Hey! My partner and I are excitedly expecting our first child and recently found out that we’ll be having a boy! We’re now name hunting and looking for names that are cute but manly and respectable. We also want it to be a little rare or unique, but that’s not necessarily mandatory. We’d also like it to have some powerful meaning behind the name, but I really don’t know where to start thinking about that. It’s all just so overwhelming! Can anyone help us out?

Here are a few options I liked when I was considering unique names for my son!
1. Ezra - means "help" or "helper" in Hebrew
2. Ambrose - means "immortal" in Greek
3. Callum - means "dove" in Gaelic
4. Daxton (can be "Dax" for short) - means "Warrior who conquers great obstacles"
5. Jasper - means "bringer of treasure" in Persian

Aaron: of Hebrew origin and is typically given to boys. It means “exalted” or “strong,” but has also been interpreted to mean “teacher” or “mountain of strength.”
Axel: "Father of peace"
Brian: means "high" or "noble"
Ezekiel: "God Strengthens"
Anderson: means ‘man’ or ‘manly.’ Other interpretations of this name include ‘brave,’ ‘warrior,’ and ‘strong’.
Nephi: It is of Hebrew origin, symbolizing faith, leadership, and divine guidance

That’s so exciting, congratulations! I feel like the naming process really gets a lot easier when you narrow down what kind of ethnic background and length you want for the name. Like, I really like Conrad and Roland, which are both Germanic names and my ancestors came from Germany. So, yeah, those are the two areas I’d focus on first. What kind of background do you want for your child’s name, and how long do you want it to be. I feel like the hunt gets a lot easier once you have those two things down.

I get that it can be overwhelming to know where to start when you're brainstorming names for your baby! There are a ton of lists online but I feel like they can be hard to sift through. To find a unique name with a powerful meaning, it could be nice to think about people in your life or characters in your favorite books/shows/movies that have unique names that you like! That way, the meaning comes not from the origin of the word but from your personal connection to it. I think that makes it more powerful.
