The cherry blossom season was one of the first holidays in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. From April 1 to April 10, all of the hardwood trees on your island will turn into cherry blossom trees. There will even be cherry blossoms floating around, which can be used to craft the cherry blossom DIY recipe set. This article will teach you how to craft this cherry blossom set.
Steps
Part 1
Part 1 of 2:
Obtaining the Cherry Blossom Petals
-
Find the cherry blossom petals floating around. On the first day of April, your hardwood trees will all turn pink and have cherry blossoms on them. While this is the most noticeable difference, you also may notice that there are pink petals floating around in the air in some places. These are the cherry blossoms.
- The cherry blossoms will be floating around your island the same way that you may have seen snowflakes floating around.
-
Buy or craft a net. There are a few ways to obtain a net, but you will only need to do one of the following:
- Buy a net at Nook's Cranny. Just walk into the store and check what they have in the cabinet. You should notice that they are selling a net.
- You can also craft a net using five tree branches. Gather your tree branches by shaking trees, then head to a crafting table to craft it.

Equip your net and catch the cherry blossom petal. This works similarly to if you want to catch a bug. Equip your net, and walk up to the petal floating around, making sure that you are facing the right direction. Once you are close enough to the cherry blossom, press A. You should see your character swinging the net and catching the cherry blossom.
- While you can sneak up on a bug to try and catch it, this is not necessary with cherry blossoms, since they are not living things.
-
Notice the cherry blossoms in your inventory. You can either find more cherry blossoms, look for DIY recipes, or take a break from catching the blossoms.Advertisement

Part 2 of 2:
Crafting the Items
-
Obtain the DIY recipes. During the cherry blossom season, there are a few different ways to get the cherry blossom DIY recipes. These include:
- Finding the DIY recipes in the messages in bottles. Every day, you will find a bottle on the beach with a DIY recipe in it. While it won't always be a cherry blossom DIY recipe, you have a high chance of it being one.
- Popping balloons to find the DIY recipes. While there is a much larger chance that you will not receive of the DIY recipes, you can pop many balloons everyday, so this may be the faster option.
- Isabelle will also send you the DIY recipe for the Outdoor Picnic Set via the NookPhone on the first day of the cherry blossom season during the morning announcements.
-
Make sure that you have enough Cherry Blossoms and any other materials you may need to craft the items. This step is important because you don't want to go and craft the item only to find that you need to go and get more materials. To figure out the amount of materials you need, add up the totals from all of the DIY recipes you wish to craft.
-
Craft the item using a DIY workbench. Walk up to it, and select "I wanna craft". Choose the DIY recipe you want to craft. You should then see a small animation of your character crafting the item. Once the animation is over, you should have the item in your inventory.
- You can repeat the process of doing this as many times as you need to.
- The workbench can be Tom Nook's, a villager's, or even your own DIY workbench.
-
Realize that you now have the item you chose to make from the cherry blossom set. You can either make another, use it to decorate your island, give it to someone, or do anything else you may want to do with it.Advertisement
