Method 1
Method 1 of 2:

Her Look

  1. The artist said he wanted her to have the Gothic Lolita style, "To be a bit different and unique". If you don't know what that is, there is a wikiHow on this website, a Wikipedia page, and you can also find the Gothic Lolita Bible, which is a magazine, in the Graphic novel section of your bookstore. Of course, none of her clothes are exactly Lolita, but they do have some influence. Buying an actual Lolita dress would be a waste of time and money in this case. Clothes that are similar to her style are at Hot Topic and stores like that.
  2. If you are tall, this may not be for you. (Unless you want to, of course.) And if you cannot walk in these types of shoes, either try to practice and get used to it or just ditch them. Get some combat boots or something of the sort. It's a good idea to have them look uber punk.

  3. but do not feel inhibited by that, because in the live-action movie, the actress is a brunette. Her hair is usually up in high pigtails, or half pigtails, and she also has bangs. Her hair length is pretty long, but do not feel inhibited by that, either...
  4. The basics are a given. (You know, eyeliner,(whatever color) lip-gloss, a little blush) Don't go too crazy on the makeup. Save that for her clothes.
  5. a lot of her jewelry has crosses on them. In the anime, they are more fleur de lis. Feel free to do either... or both! Or if you're not cosplaying and you want to adopt this into your own style, find your own signature jewelry!

Method 2 of 2:

Her Personality

  1. She smiles and stuff. Don't be afraid to laugh loudly. Misa is loud, and rude sometimes! Speak your mind.
  2. So if you have a boyfriend, do the same. Be faithful. But in the beginning, when she contacts Kira, she is border lining stalker-esque. Don't do this. Do not stalk people who catch your interest or you admire. You could get a restraining order.
  3. She doesn't walk with her head down. She isn't afraid of anyone. Don't fear yourself or anyone else. Just be who you are and shun all who tell you otherwise!
  4. Misa wears A LOT of accessories, be it chains, skulls, necklaces, or zippers; just be sure not to overdo it...

  • Question
Are there any websites where I can get these outfits?
    Community Answer
Yes. Just do an internet search for Misa and shopping.
  • Question
I usually like to DIY my costumes, and my school starts at 8:50. About how long would this take to complete?
    Community Answer
If you DIY, it shouldn't take too long, depending on what you decide to do. If you sew it, it might take a while. But if you just wear a dress and such, you can put it together the night before and just put it on in the morning.
  • Question
Would a side bangs also do for Misa?
    Community Answer
Yes, if you also keep the pigtails. A slight change in hairstyle doesn't really change the character herself! Cosplays don't have to be perfect or professional in order to be a good impersonation.

      Tips

      • A good sense of humor, a quick wit, and constant vigilance are always good traits whatever your style is.
      • If you are cosplaying, it is a good idea to take along a Death Note. You can buy one at anime/manga shops, and online. Or there's a wikiHow on how to make one yourself.
      • Be proud of who you are! Misa Misa is proud and loud! (loud; not a requirement)If people condemn you for being different, don't let them get to you. Smile at them and continue on your merry way!

      Warnings

      • Being different always has consequences. Be ready for people pointing and making comments about your style (this is if your more into the goth-lolita style of Misa Misa, or if where ever you live isn’t inhabited by people who dress this way)

      Things You'll Need

      • Money
      • This style can be quite difficult , but go on eBay you can get a couple of good cosplaying items - and it can be quite cheap. A EXCEPTIONALLY good place to go is Camden Market in London - you will eventually find the two best shops a Lolita or Lolita style cosplayer could need is GLP ( Gothic - Lolita - Punk ) and Sai Sai. Plus there are lots of stalls.
      • Patience
      • Misa Amane's outfit can be up to 150 pounds. Depending on what you already have. Patience is needed.
