Do you love making mug cakes, but hate using cake mix? Do you enjoy Oreos? If you answered yes to these questions, this mug cake recipe is for you.
Ingredients
Yield: 1 serving
- 5 Oreos (uncrushed)
- 1 / 4 cup milk
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp flour
- 1 / 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 / 2 tsp cocoa powder
Steps
-
1Place four uncrushed Oreos in a small-to-medium-sized coffee cup. The direction they go into the cup doesn't matter, as long as they all fit.
-
2Add the milk to the cup. You'll need to use 1 / 4 cup of milk, as described in the ingredients list above.Advertisement
-
3Stir this mixture. Stir the mixture until it has turned into a ground-up mixture that is liquidy, combined with the grainy Oreo base texture. This means that the Oreos have been mashed into bits and pieces, and been combined with the milk, resulting a grainy mixture that is quite thick.
- You can use a fork, knife or spoon to do this, but avoid using plastic silverware. This will ensure that the Oreos will break reliably without your silverware breaking.
-
4Add the powdered ingredients. This includes the sugar, flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder.
-
5Continue to stir the mixture, and combine all of the ingredients.
-
6Dunk the last uncrushed Oreo into the center of the mixture. Put the cookie into the center of the mixture, and push it into the mixture so that it is coated entirely with the grainy outer layers.
- Your hands will get dirty when you do this, so be prepared to wash up later.
-
7Microwave the mixture for 1 minute.
-
8Take it out and serve with a spoon. The sugar will congeal with the other ingredients and cause the grainy part to become a hard, solid "brownie-like" outer layer that will form around the last Oreo cookie. It can be eaten by cutting pieces off of the top with a spoon - much like the Brownie in a Mug recipe, but with a center ingredient that adds crispness.Advertisement
