' "A pair of powerful pliers is important to fix both cars and people."
Johnson is the tank that comes by driving in to start off a team fight. While he protects himself with his second skill, along with a throw on his first, it won't be easy to take care of Johnson if he is your enemy. In addition, his ultimate can be tricky to use. Fortunately, this wikiHow will help clear up any difficulties you may be having when playing as Johnson.
Steps
-
Use his passive. His passive is named Electro Airbag. This skill will make him earn a temporary shield that will absorb 300 (700% increase at max level) physical defense when his HP hits 30% or less. [1] X Research source Use this skill as a way to escape enemy damage when low on HP, and recall safely.
- Do note, however, that he has a 100-second cooldown on this passive. Make sure you don't use it as an advantage to team-fight every time and retreat with low HP.
-
Try his 1st skill (Deadly Pincers). This skill will let him throw a spanner in a designated direction, and deal up to 250 magic damage to enemies nearby. [2] X Research source Use this skill to double-check where the enemies are located in the case they hide in a bush.Advertisement
-
Attempt his 2nd skill (Electromag Rays). This skill will let Johnson raise a shield, and deal continuous damage in a fan-shaped area. It will also slow enemies down when near Johnson by 20%. [3] X Research source Use this skill as a protector - it will give enemies a chance to notice you are there. Also, use it as an advantage.
- You can also use other skills/basic attacks while the shield is up, so use it wisely.
-
Use his ultimate (Rapid Touchdown). This skill will make Johnson into a car, and will slowly accelerate for 2 seconds. During this period, an ally can join with Johnson. After the 2 seconds (or by selecting the Throttle skill early), he will drive forward. Once the car collides with an enemy hero/obstacle, it will deal up to 1050 magic damage (also with a stunning effect to enemies by up to 1 second) and electrify the area for 4 seconds. Use this skill to start off a team fight, and make a ganking moment in the game. [4] X Research source
- During this skill, you can press the Nitrous button. It will make Johnson faster than the original but will reveal his location to enemies for 3 seconds. [5] X Research source
- If Johnson comes into close contact with creeps/minions, they will be knocked up to the air with magic damage.
-
Know what equipment items fit Johnson. For the most part, he will need defensive items in order to stay alive throughout the game. This includes Cursed Helmet (for Magic Defense), the Guardian Helmet (to heal when not attacking), and Blade Armor (for physical defense). [6] X Research source You could also add Athena's Shield, Oracle, Warrior Boots, and Immortality for assistance.
-
Choose his emblem. For the most part, you should have a Tank emblem near you. [7] X Research source Try adding in Firmness and Fortress, and for the third level, select Tenacity. Tenacity will release extra defensive benefits, so use this emblem to get protected.
-
Pair up with Odette. A common hero selection that you'll see will include Johnson and Odette on the same team. This is highly recommended, as it is good for ganking and initiating team fighting. [8] X Research source [9] X Research source To achieve this correctly, get Johnson to use his ultimate, and let Odette ride in your car. Once you crash into an enemy, let Odette use her ultimate and use your skills to harass the enemy more!
- For alternatives, replace Odette with Saber, Tigreal, or Vale. [10] X Research source
