QuestionWhat does “bench” mean?Cool⚡️KIDCommunity AnswerYour bench is where all of your Basic Pokémon go. If you don’t have more than one basic Pokémon, that’s okay. You don’t need a bench.
-
QuestionHow do I retreat my Pokémon?Cool⚡️KIDCommunity AnswerTo retreat a Pokémon, you need to look at the energy cost. Then, put that much energy in that Pokémon in order to retreat it.
-
QuestionIs this mostly one on one matches, and can it be played without energy?Cool⚡️KIDCommunity AnswerYes. This game is a one-on-one game, since it is designed for only two people to play at a time. You can't play the game without energy cards, unless you use Pokemon cards that all have attacks that don't require energy.
-
QuestionHow can I use an ability?Cool⚡️KIDCommunity AnswerYou can use it anytime you want. Abilities do not require an energy. You can use abilities from active Pokémon or benched Pokémon.

-
QuestionDo you discard energy cards after attacking?Community AnswerNo. The energy will always stay on the Pokemon. You simply need to have them attached to attack. You only discard energy if it specifically tells you to.
-
QuestionCan you take Pokemon off the bench back in to your hand?Community AnswerNo, not unless stated by its effect or an effect on the field, you cannot ever do this.
-
QuestionCan a Pokemon do more than 1 attack per turn if it has the energy to do so?Blaziken77gCommunity AnswerUnfortunately, no. 2 attacks would be fairly OP, no matter what. Stacking energy (unless it has an attack that sends energy to the discard) is useless and a waste as you then have to wait for the Pokemon to get KO'd and even then, the energy goes to the discard.
-
QuestionDoes this energy stay with this Pokemon or do I discard it?Blaziken77gCommunity AnswerAt the end of the day, it depends on the description of the attack. For most attacks, no! You don't have to discard energy after using an attack. Just make sure that you read the effect text (if there is anything).
-
QuestionIf you attack and knock out an opponent's active Pokemon, the opponent's Pokemon and any energy cards go into their discard pile. Does the attacking Pokemon and its energy go into a discard pile also?ICSIHCommunity AnswerNo. The only time a Pokemon goes into the discard pile is when it is knocked out. The attacking Pokemon does not go into the discard pile unless the instructions under the attack say so.
