Why would someone want to become a Saint? Saints aren't different than ordinary people, except that God used them in amazing ways. Our goal is to love God, not be saints.

To be a saint is to love God with all our capacity and submit completely to His will in order to become the person He wants us to be. It’s a good thing to want to be a saint! It’s even good to want to be an example to others (a canonized saint); however, we must humbly submit to God’s wishes in this.

  • Question
Why does someone have to perform two miracles to become a saint?
    Community Answer
It isn't really the person that performs the miracles. It is God working through that person, and the fact God chooses to work through a person is taken as a sign that person is in heaven. A canonized saint is help up by the church as an example of holiness. So after full investigation, the miracles are taken as confirmation by God. There are actually 3, because there is an expectation of 1 miracle after a person has been declared venerable, then 2 after a person has been declared blessed.
