Is pulling off the keys safe to do on a MacBook Air?
    Community Answer
I usually use a vacuum head and brush it over my keys. This usually works, especially to get crumbs out.

  • Question
What happens if I have a Windows 10 Dell laptop and want to get crumbs out of the keys?
    Community Answer
A vacuum can get most crumbs out from between the keys. For a more thorough cleaning, use a cheap toothbrush, an unused paintbrush, or a can of compressed air.
  • Question
I spilt sticky liquid all over my keys (on my laptop), what would be safe?
    Community Answer
It depends on what the "sticky liquid" is. If it's a liquid such as soda, that is not safe. Look into buying a new laptop if this is the case. If "sticky" is glue, that might come off with extremely careful cleaning.
  • Question
What do I do if some of the laptop keys aren't working?

Open up your Notepad and run the alphabet test in accent letters to capital letters and all the numbers on the keyboard 1 through 9. See which ones don't have a soft print on the screen. Each key character has a binary number assigned to that key like for example: E to us is an E but to a computer it's in a digital form 01001001 - this represents the character in binary. 8 digits to one byte, half of that would be known as a nibble. So what keys are not working as being depressed? The laptop converter could be wearing out? Maybe you can use an alternate keyboard with a USB plug with software to install, like those roll-up keyboards.
  • Question
I spilled cherry coke on my Chromebook, when it dried, the keys it seemed to work fine. Now the keys are sticky and stuck, how do I remove the keys?
    Stormy Night
    Community Answer
You need a thin flathead screwdriver, put the screwdriver underneath the key cap and gently try to separate the key cap and the mechanism. Be careful not to separate the two pieces of the key mechanism. Repeat this, then clean out the area beneath the key caps and pop them back on. Make sure you know what a normal keyboard layout looks like before putting them back on!

    Cobra Heli
