Geocaches may contain stuff to trade, but not to keep; if you take something, you should insert something in return. Caches may also contain trackables (travel bug) that are little coin-looking items. They have code in them that you should log to the app when taking the item. Trackables also usually have a mission, so you should read the instructions of the trackable and later place it into another cache.
