There is a strap under the seat cover, at the hinge of the seat. Pull it while holding onto the push-handle. This takes two hands!

Does the seat of the stroller have an upright position? It seems to only recline.

How do I open a collapsed Graco modes stroller?

There is a gray bar on the side of the stroller that acts as a lock. You must lift this bar with your left hand to unattach it from the other side of the stroller. Then use your right hand on the handle of the stroller (down towards the ground at this point) to push in the handle lock with your thumb and squeeze the button with your hand, and pull the handle up to expand the stroller. A long answer but it is quite easy once you figure it out.

To collapse the stroller, squeeze the levers on either side of the handlebar frame. Push the handlebar above the folded seat. Pull the red handle - it should now be on top of the folded seat. Pull it, and it will collapse the stroller.

To open the stroller, release the side latches on the both sides, keeping your fingers out of the way of the opening mechanism. By looking at the center of the stroller, locate the latches. There are some plastic latches which hook from the one frame bar to another frame bar. The task of the latches is to keep the strollers together, to make it convenient to carry with one hand without thinking to open the stroller.
