  • Question
Should I hand write the letter or type it?
    Community Answer
You should type the letter; it will look more professional. Despite this being a personal request, it is still technically a business letter.
  • Question
When I did a survey for free samples, it was asking me for my SIM card details, etc. Is this a scam?
    Community Answer
It is most likely a scam as most legitimate sites would not be asking for those details.
  • Question
Will they respond right away when I send them the letter?
    Community Answer
Depending on the company size and how noticeable your email is, it usually takes a few days. If they don't respond, they're probably not interested.
  • Question
To get your free samples do I have to take a lot of surveys and how long do I have to wait to get free products?
    Community Answer
You do have to complete a lot of surveys before gaining rewards. With websites such as Toluna, you only gain a few points for each one taken and you need thousands of points to access any kind of worthwhile gift or freebie. It can be worthwhile in the long run but you need to have a lot of time to invest. Also, try to choose a site that you know is legitimate and has given rewards to people before, just so you know you aren't wasting your time. Free products can take two weeks to a few months to arrive.
  • Question
If the company replies and does give me free samples, should I reply back with a thank you?
    Community Answer
There is no need. However, by being polite and sending a thank you, it shows that you're grateful and the company might send you more samples if they like you and you demonstrate positive responses. This is even more likely if you thank them on social media.
  • Question
What should I title the email?
    Mocha Zhou
    Community Answer
The email/letter should be titled on what the topic is about. If you are writing a complaint, title it with the product you received. If you are writing to flatter and explain your positive experience with the product, use the product name as the subject. If you liked the bed mattress, write "bed mattress" as your topic.
