  • Question
I was invited to a friend's party and was pressured into drinking and stuff last year. How can I say I don't want to go?
    Community Answer
Just tell them kindly but firmly something like, "I appreciate your gracious invite and I thank you, but I don't want to go because you drink. I'm not into drinking, and I don't want to go somewhere I'm going to be peer pressured." If they blow up/won't be your friend anymore, then they were not a very good friend to begin with and you're better off.
  • Question
If our friends invite us and we can't attend because we don't have a car, what can we do?
    Community Answer
You can ask someone to drop you off or you can ask someone who is going to give you a lift.
  • Question
I have many friends, but no one invites me to parties. What can I do?
    Community Answer
Throw your own party! The more you put yourself out there, the more people will consider you as a person they want to have at their party.
  • Question
How do I get my friends to want to invite me over?
    Community Answer
Invite friends to your house, or if you can't have company, organize another get together, like dinner at a fun restaurant or something like that. Initiating plans is a great way for people to see you as someone who is fun and interesting to be around, and after a while, people will invite you to their events too, because you become a person that they want to be around and want to be associated with.
  • Question
How do I get myself invited to places like the swimming pool or the movies where my friends hang out often?
    Community Answer
Ask to go when you hear them making plans. For example, if you hear some friends making plans to go to the mall, don't be afraid to say something like "Oh, you're all going to the mall? That sounds like fun! Do you think I could come?" Please note that this is called fishing for an invitation, and is looked down upon by many people if done for attention or otherwise without good intentions.

  • Question
I don't think my friend will let me tag along with her to the party. None of the other options work for me either, what do I do? I really want to go to this party.
    Community Answer
The easiest thing to do is just casually ask the host, "So, what are you doing this weekend?" or whenever the party is. If they say they're having a party but they don't invite you, or if they say nothing about the party, you pretty much just have to accept that you're not invited. But there's definitely a chance they will invite you to the party.
  • Question
If I get invited then uninvited, should I just show up anyway?

No. If you were uninvited, it is not good etiquette to still show up.
