    Expert Answer
Ask your piercer how long your specific piercing will take to heal. A cartilage piercing won't heal as fast as an ear lobe piercing and a lobe piercing won't take as long as different cartilage piercings. Also, don't touch or twist a new piercing. The more you keep your hands away from the piercing the better it heals. When you twist and move the piercing, you tear open all of the healing cells that are forming around the wound.

I'm getting my ears pierced again for probably the 6th time. The hole either closed up or got infected the other times, so I'm earring-less and want to get them pierced again, but I'm scared. What should I do?
    Community Answer
I recommend you should decide if you actually want them pierced or not. If you do, then just remember to keep your earrings in for at least 6 weeks so the hole doesn't close up, and make sure to clean them daily to keep them from getting infected. If you take proper care of your piercings you won't have to go through it again.
