    Expert Answer
Pistachios don’t require much fertilizer. As long as your soil is healthy, your tree should not require it. If you find you need some, use a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer and only fertilize your pistachio tree in the spring.
  • Question
How long will take to bear the fruit?
    Ninox
    Top Answerer
Pistachios grow very slowly, so don't expect fruits before the 5th year. If you don't see any fruit after the 7th year, the tree may have a problem.
  • Question
How do I scarify the pistachio?
    Ninox
    Top Answerer
Pistachio doesn't heal well. Thus, you only need to cut dead branches and some other branches to help ramification.
  • Question
What are the long branches with many leaf stems growing from the bottom of the tree?
    Community Answer
This is unwanted growth. This growth is sprouting from below the graft, and it all needs to be removed. Only allow growth from above the graft, as this will be the true tree and will maintain its strength and health.
  • Question
Where can I get the seeds?
    Community Answer
You can get your seeds from a nursery. They will provide you with grafted ones. You can also use pistachio seeds you get from a grocery store, just make sure they are not roasted or salted or they won't be able to germinate.
