Yes, as long as you pay attention and take good notes in class. Showing up to class on time means you won't miss any important announcements at the beginning, such as what is likely to be on next week's test, and the teacher will see that you're making an effort and be much more willing to help you out. Some classes also factor attendance into your final grade; if this is the case, arriving punctually every time can also bump your grade up a little.
