  • Question
Can I use magazine or newspaper strapped with duct tape as armor?
    Community Answer
It would be better than nothing, but it would be rather stiff and thin, not as good as say, padded sports equipment.
  • Question
What's your opinion on using multiple layers of duct tape (50 to 75) to make armor?
    Community Answer
While cheap, and that many layers would provide some decent protection, it'd be much heavier than more resilient and plentiful leather, and not breathe at all.
  • Question
How can I protect my eyes from rubber bullet injuries?
    Community Answer
Get ballistic rated eyewear protection with MIL-PRF 32432 rating to protect your eyes from rubber bullets. Be aware that welding masks and construction grade eye protection will not protect your eyes from high velocity rounds like rubber bullets. This grade of safety gear will shatter and has the potential to cause worse injuries.
  • Question
What can I do to fight back?
    Community Answer
Do not fight back. It's important to remember that fighting back against police officers during a riot is illegal and you could go to jail. Additionally, you should keep in mind that the protective gear mentioned in this article is only intended to protect you from stray projectiles or other threats during a riot, it won't help you much in a confrontation against police. If you find yourself involved in a riot, then make your way out of the area as soon as possible.
  • Question
The shield portion of this article is kind of hard to visualize from the words alone. For example: 65-degree angle measured from where? How would a second handle be used? etc. Diagrams would be super.
    Brenden Kelly
    Community Answer
65 degrees above the horizontal horizon. Hold your arm in front of your chest how you think you would hold a shield, it will be close to 65 degrees. A second handle could be used with your arm disengaged from the shield's sling and hands on each handle. This turns a vertically held shield into one you would hold closer to horizontal with both hands.
  • Question
    How to avoid police?
    Ninjajamesb
    Community Answer
If you see the police, make sure to stay away from any line they have made. Move diagonally to any route you can see escaping to avoid being trampled when turning around. If you are not in a large crowd and see the police, it should be entirely safe to turn around.
  • Question
Can I use a baseball cup and helmet for protection as well? Baseball cups are usually smaller than normal cups though for high mobility.
    Ninjajamesb
    Community Answer
That should be good. Baseball gear is often suited for high speed balls and collisions, so it should do the job quite well. Wear eye protection with it, as rubber bullets entering the helmet can get to your eyes moderately easily.
