If someone has breast asymmetry, it generally happens during the developmental phase. Some asymmetrical situations can happen after breastfeeding. But generally speaking, asymmetry people are born with it and they realize it soon after their teenage years and the approach to both of these situations is slightly different and generally involves differential augmentation surgery and mastopexy

A typical surgery might include placing silicone implants in both breasts. One implant would be probably larger than the other to correct breast size. Oftentimes there's a mastopexy that needs to be performed because the one breast may be too big and needs to be reduced or the nipple position needs to be moved to match the other breast. This is more common with the asymmetry due to breastfeeding
  • Question
I am 13 and my breasts have been uneven for three years. What can I do?
    Community Answer
Uneven breasts are fairly common, although if there's a difference of more than a cup size you might want to get examined by a doctor to make sure that there's no serious medical condition causing it. Most likely, however, you're fine. You can try stuffing your smaller cup with socks or tissues to make them look the same size, or look into buying a prosthetic breast form (check eBay or Amazon). Once you're a bit older, you might want to look into surgery in order to make both breasts the same size. Most of all, remember that you are more than the size of your breasts, no matter how uneven.
  • Question
I am 21 and my right breast is much smaller than the left. It's very embarrassing for me. What should I do? Should I go for breast augmentation? Are there any side effects?
    Community Answer
Many women have the same issue. If it really bothers you, you can have a breast augmentation, but understand that it is major surgery; things can always go wrong. Anesthesia has its own risks, and implants can burst or become infected or heal incorrectly. It's extremely important that you find a good cosmetic surgeon with excellent credentials. The other option is just to accept your body. We all have imperfections.
  • Question
I am 24 years old and my left breast is larger and heavier than the right. Is there any way to reduce the left breast size? And also I want to know the reason.
    Community Answer
This is very common. Most women's breasts are not exactly the same. If the difference is very bothersome, you can get breast reduction surgery.
  • Question
My friend is 13 and her breasts are cone-shaped. She wants round curvy breasts, what can she do?
    Community Answer
There's nothing that can really be done about this, except perhaps gaining weight, and even that won't guarantee a change in shape. Tell your friend that she's only 13, most likely her body, breasts included, will continue to change as she gets older. In the meantime, she should learn to accept and love her body. Every body is different, every body is a good body.
  • Question
I am 21-years-old, my right breast is bigger than my left. I feel bad about it. What should I do?
    Community Answer
First off, you should get it checked out by a doctor, just to make sure there's no underlying medical condition causing the problem. If you want to create the appearance of an even bust, you can stuff your smaller cup with socks or tissues, or look into getting a prosthetic breast insert. Breast reduction surgery is also a possibility, though a costly one - you might be able to get it covered by insurance depending on where you live and what your situation is.
  • Question
I am 18 years old and my breasts are uneven. Surgery is out of question. Is there any way they can be treated?
    Community Answer
You're still young and developing. Don't worry about it for a few years, as things might fix themselves. For now, you might put a pad in one side of your bra. It's normal to have uneven breasts.
