    Expert Answer
I actually wouldn't opt for wallpaper. Instead, try painting the walls with a super light shade of grey, light blue, soft yellow, or something like that, which will really open a room up to look larger. I'd avoid that stark hospital white, though. It's too sterile to feel cozy in most spaces.
  • Question
How should I clean my closet?
    Community Answer
Take everything out of your closet and sort your belongings into three piles: things to donate, things to throw out and things to keep. Only keep items you actually will wear or care about, then use storage bins and shelves to organize your things once they are back in your closet.

  • Question
What can I do if I have a queen sized bed, a desk, a long bureau, a dresser, and a nightstand?

    Community Answer
Position your bed so it is in the corner furthest from your door, thus making it up against two walls. Then you can place your nightstand next to your bed. The aim is to make sure that every big piece of furniture is up against a wall, ideally in a corner or off to the side in a place that is out of the way but still easily accessible.

Ask them if it's possible for them to store some of their things elsewhere, like another room of the house or even in a storage locker somewhere. Calmly explain to them that you need a little more space in your room. If they refuse, you're probably just going to have to live with it.
