  • Question
If I get a concealed carry weapon license, is it still illegal to carry a hidden blade?
    Community Answer
Yes. Having a concealed carry license does not get you past the state laws concerning knives. Most states have laws concerning the length of blade you are allowed to carry concealed. Most large fixed blade knives and swords must be carried openly.
  • Question
Can you clarify step six a little bit more?
    Community Answer
In step 6, connect the spring to back of the biggest tier. If your tier has a plastic cap, add it and drill a hole before connecting the spring.
  • Question
Can a fake rubber knife be substituted for this?
    Community Answer
Yes, if you're just going to have it for fun and not use it for real.
  • Question
Is there a license I can get to have these legally?
    Community Answer
Actually these are essentially just a switchblade hidden in your sleeve, so any state where it's legal to carry a switchblade, it is legal to carry a hidden blade. Here in South Carolina I carry one frequently and I've ever had a cop compliment me on it.
  • Question
How hard is it to make a hidden blade?
    Community Answer
If you have everything then it's not too hard, but if you're on a low budget and don't have much in the way of materials then it's kind of hard to get stuff.
  • Question
Can I use it as a self-defense weapon?
    Community Answer
Maybe? The length and positioning of the blade doesn't make it ideal for self-defense due to the lack of wrist flexibility. Ideally, a knife in that setting is a slashing weapon to cut, but as a hidden blade your hand would be in the way. You could resort to a stabbing motion, but you lose a lot of flexibility in your restriction. Also, check your state, county, and city laws for the legality of carrying switchblades and spring-assisted knives.
  • Question
Do I have to use power tools?
    Community Answer
You can use the manual versions of them -- but it would be more helpful to use power tools.
  • Question
How do I hide the blade after I discharge it?
    Community Answer
The blade isn't made to be hidden after discharging. It's only made to be hidden when you're not utilizing it.
  • Question
Will the government ever make these legal to conceal carry?
    Community Answer
Most likely not, but you won't have to use this in any situation in which your attacker isn't also breaking the law.
  • Question
How long should it take to make this?
    Community Answer
It would probably take about a day for everything. Making the parts and drilling will take up most of your time, but assembling is only a few minutes.
  • Question
Is there a way to make it more realistic and smaller?
    Community Answer
Try covering it with some leather so it looks more like a gauntlet. You could also wear a puffy jacket to make it look like it is part of your jacket.
