  • Question
How do I measure my head size for the cap?
    Edward Liu
    Community Answer
Use a bendable ruler to measure your head, then measure your paper you are making the hat out of. Soft tape measures for sewing work great.
  • Question
Can you actually wear the cone hat? It looks so small.
    Community Answer
Only if you punch holes and put in elastic to go under your chin and keep it on your head.
  • Question
Can we make this for a school project for us to wear?
    Community Answer
Yes. It would make a nice school project.
  • Question
Can I use a normal sized sheet of paper?
    Community Answer
Only if you have a very small head! A normal sized piece of paper would work for a doll hat. Try it out and you'll see what size it is.
  • Question
What do I do if the tape doesn't stay on when making a paper hat?
    Community Answer
You could staple it together or use duct tape, which is sturdier.
  • Question
    Can I use printer paper?
    Community Answer
You can, but the hat likely won't be very sturdy if you plan on wearing it. Otherwise, go ahead!
  • Question
What do I do if my paper is too small when making a paper hat?
    Community Answer
You can get a bigger piece of paper, and if you don't have one, you can tape a couple of pieces of paper together. You could also use poster board or cardboard.
  • Question
Where would I buy bigger paper?
    Community Answer
Any art or craft supply store should have it. If not, order it online from Amazon or any other trustworthy website!
  • Question
What kind of rope would be best to tie on a paper hat to wear it?
    Community Answer
Anything will do! I recommend yarn, because it's cheap and pretty easy to find in stores.
  • Question
Does the heart hat have to be made out of a paper plate?
    Community Answer
You can use any paper you like for the heart hat. Paper plates are stiff and already cut in a circle, which is why they're easy to use. But if like a different paper, and don't mind cutting a circle, you can use any other strong, quality paper.
  • Question
How do you make the cone with a point and all closed? It didn’t work for me.
    Community Answer
The paper has to be a circle. Cut a circle out of your paper. Cut along a radius. That is, make a line from the centre of the circle to the end it follows. And make a slit there. Then start folding and rolling it. Use tape or glue to hold it in place. With this method, it is bound to have a point.
