What if I don't have a bank account? Should/can I use a check or money transfer?

It's not possible to use a check without having a bank account with money in it. You can buy a money order with cash, but very few, if any, eBay sellers accept that form of payment anymore. It's very easy to open a bank account, and you should just do that.
