  • Question
How do I hand paint my skateboard instead of spray painting?
    Community Answer
Use weather-safe paint and seal it with varnish when you're done! Don't expect it to last forever if you're using rails, though.
  • Question
Can I paint the top of my skateboard?
    Community Answer
You can, but it is inadvisable. If you were to maintain the normal abrasive surface of the deck, then it wouldn't be particularly suitable for painting but if you were to remove it, then you wouldn't have enough grip to ride the board.
  • Question
Is it essential to prime the board and can we use normal paint?
    Community Answer
It’s not essential to prime but it helps the paint to stay on longer. If by normal paint you mean acrylic, yes you can. That’s what I did, I painted it like I would a canvas and it came out nicely, just make sure to put a clear topcoat on it because it is more susceptible to chipping.
  • Question
Should I use clear coat to paint my skateboard?
    Community Answer
You can only use a clear coat to cover up your skateboard when you are done spray painting it, but if you like the normal color of your skateboard, you can use a clear gloss coat to give it a shine.
