QuestionWhat should I use when reciting Ashtottara Naamavali? I read somewhere that Lord Vishnu cannot be worshipped with akshintalu. Can Lord Krishna be worshipped with akshintalu, as he is a form of Lord Vishnu?VedaYantraCommunity AnswerWhen reciting Ashtottara Naamavali for Lord Vishnu or Krishna, it's best to offer Tulasi leaves, flowers, or white akshata (unbroken rice without turmeric). Traditionally, turmeric-mixed akshata (yellow) is avoided for Lord Vishnu and his forms, as turmeric is more associated with goddess worship. Since Lord Krishna is a form of Vishnu, the same rule applies. Use Tulasi wherever possible—it's most beloved to Krishna. If unavailable, plain white rice or flowers are acceptable.
