Can a recorder play the same pitches as a piano?
    Darren Forster
    Community Answer
It all depends on the size of the piano and how many recorders you have. Most recorders are set to a certain range of notes (like the one I've got is soprano/descant), but they can go quite low - there are bass recorders out there. The pitches then depend on the size of the piano - one recorder on its own would not be able to produce the same pitches something like a grand piano could produce; however, some recorders could easily play the same amount of pitches as a smaller keyboard like a 25-key midi keyboard.

    • iEverest •

When playing a flute, you do not blow through a mouthpiece. Also, the flute is held horizontally, not vertically like the flute. Another thing is that there are buttons on the flute, unlike the holes you’d find on a clarinet or a recorder.
  • Question
    What if I don’t have a case?
    Ruby
    Top Answerer
If you don't have a recorder case, you can buy or make one. If that isn't possible, you can keep it in a pencil case or any other sort of bag. If not, wrap your recorder in something soft such as a pillowcase and keep it somewhere safe where nobody will misplace it or accidentally break it. Keep your recorder away from heat sources or it will get bent out of shape.
