How is a quote from an article cited?

It depends on the required format. Each style (MLA, APA, etc) has its own guidelines for how to cite a quote. The example uses MLA which requires the author and page number in parentheses following the quote with the full citation listed on a separate sheet as a bibliography. Other styles require different citations.
