QuestionAm I reading Homestuck too fast? I want to savor the comic, but I'm already hooked. I have read up to the end of act 3 after two days. I don't know how many acts there are, but am I going too fast?Tom De BackerTop AnswererDon't worry about reading too fast. Remember, you can always read it again. A second reading often reveals many details you may have missed.

QuestionIs Act 4 that important?Ayla CraigCommunity AnswerEvery act is crucial. As said in the article, no detail is useless. Act 4 is even more important than the rest.
-
QuestionHow does one convince another to read homestuck?Community AnswerHomestuck is a tricky beast, and it's definitely not for everyone. Don't try to convince them by showing them spoilers, but maybe telling them about what kind of story it is and how it's affected you. If someone absolutely refuses to read the comic, it may be for the best. Don't force anyone into doing it.
-
QuestionWhy is the first part so confusing?Community AnswerThe first part of Homestuck doesn't make much sense to the first-time reader, because a lot of words are made up and not really explained. It introduces a lot of complicated ideas and prepares the reader for the rest of the story.
-
QuestionCan I read it on a phone?Community AnswerIt's possible, but you may miss out on the awesome flash animations, so I wouldn't do it.
-
QuestionHow long does it take to read it to the current page?Community AnswerDepending on your pacing (say, about 200-300 pages daily), it can take almost a month.
-
QuestionCan I skip recaps?Community AnswerYou can, but they are most often satire and can reveal or even foreshadow things to come.
-
QuestionShould the text under the pictures be weird in the first act? On my computer, it looks like it is letters written on letters.Community AnswerNo, and that doesn't sound good. The text should look normal.
-
QuestionWhat site is Homestuck on?Community AnswerThe beginning of the article shows where to find it. It can be found on Homestruck.com.
-
QuestionShould I still read Homestuck if I'm worried the fandom is dead?Community AnswerHomestuck is a separate entity from its fandom. While the fandom is quite active, it isn't a necessary component of Homestuck needed to fully enjoy it.

QuestionHas all of the story ended, or does it have a ending? For I don't want to get to the end to find out it's a cliffhanger and I don't want to ask google in case of spoilers.Michael ParkeyCommunity AnswerWhile Homestuck has ended (on a cliffhanger), there are two epilogues as well as Homestuck² (the events in Homestuck² take place after the epilogues). You do not have to read the epilogues to read Homaestuck² but I would suggest reading the recap so that you actually know what is going on.
-
QuestionWhen will I meet the trolls? Everyone is talking about them and hyping them up. I'm in act 3.Michael ParkeyCommunity AnswerA few of them message the kids in act 4, so technically that is the first place you'll see them. But you'll actually get to know them in Act 5.
-
QuestionSo I saw an answer that said “There is no minimum age” for people to read it but the tips and warnings say there is a lot of inappropriate stuff in it. So is it really appropriate for people under 13?Michael ParkeyCommunity AnswerProbably not. I would suggest against reading it before you're 13 because there are some very mature topics brought up in this comic that kids under the age of 13 may not understand or be able to handle.
-
QuestionWhat about the prologue and the epilogues? Should I read them before or after reading the comic?Michael ParkeyCommunity AnswerDefinitely after, the events in the prologue and epilogue take place after Homestuck.
